ARTFUL INSIGHT: NEW YORK FASHION DISTRICT

We first went to a bunch of different studios including a costume jewellery studio which had some interesting manufacturing methods and products. This jewellery studio produces high-end jewellery costume jewellery for brands like Escada. Unfortunately working conditions were not as safe or appealing as could be, but it certainly was interesting to see several of the methods they use to making their pieces.

After the jewellery studio we visited the famous NYC Mood Fabrics. This incredible store stocks aisles and aisles of fabrics, buttons, laces and every sewing accessory you could imagine. A real sewing heaven... an inspiring space to be in!
