The centre holds.

The Core Brooch is a hand-drawn stainless steel form with a compact, looping quality. A line that curves back on itself, finding a centre and settling there. The continuous line loops and crosses itself before flowing seamlessly into the closing pin, so the whole piece reads as one spontaneous, resolved gesture. At 50 x 35mm, it sits neatly on a lapel without demanding attention, but rewards anyone who looks closely.

In black powder coat, the Core is for the woman who wants a brooch with a graphic edge. The black finish gives the looping form a sharp definition that makes the compact design feel more deliberate, more resolved. It works on a white shirt where the contrast is immediate and clean, or on a dark blazer where it adds an unexpected focal point at the lapel.

You pin it on and feel like the outfit has been given a quiet focal point. Small enough to be subtle. Considered enough to be noticed.

This is for the woman who wants a quiet way to be seen. Pin it to a jacket, knit, shirt, or scarf, and the whole outfit feels more personal without becoming loud.

The pin and the clasp follow the line of the drawing. It is designed to sit close to the back of the brooch. The construction of the brooch is very strong and durable, yet light on the fabric.

Why collectors keep coming back

  • Lightweight and comfortable on fabric: These brooches are designed to sit lightly, without tugging, dragging or pulling the garment out of shape.
  • Easy to layer: Because they are so light, you can wear one brooch quietly or layer several together to build your own small composition.
  • Handcrafted in Melbourne: Made by hand in the inSync studio, one piece at a time.
  • Care and repairs: If your piece needs a repair, send me your order details and a clear photo. Repairs for workmanship or material problems are complimentary. A small fee may apply for damage from wear, accidents or lost components. I’ll let you know before doing any work.
  • Selected by museum and design stores: inSync design has been selected by museum and design stores internationally.
Core Brooch - 100% hypoallergenic stainless steel, matt rhodium black plate

Wear with Swing Stud Earrings - 22ct Matt Gold Plate, Splash Necklace - 22ct Matt Gold Plate, and Reed Ring - 22ct Matt Gold Plate for a collected look that feels considered from shoulder to hand.

Wear your brooch on a jacket, coat, knit, scarf or dress. It can sit high near the shoulder, low on a lapel, or at the centre of a simple neckline.

For delicate fabrics, test placement first or wear it through a slightly stronger layer.

A brooch is a beautiful way to flirt with boldness because you can move it, restyle it and make it your own.

Will it pull on fabric?
These brooches are designed to sit lightly, even on finer fabrics. For silk or very delicate pieces, test placement first.

Will it feel too bold?
Pin it to a jacket, knit or scarf you already love. One brooch can make familiar clothes feel more expressive without feeling overdone.

Can I wear more than one?
Yes. Because they are so light, you can layer several brooches together and build your own small composition.

Where should I place it?
Try the shoulder of a jacket, the edge of a collar, a knit, a scarf or the centre of a simple neckline.

How do the pin and clasp fit?
The pin and clasp follow the line of the drawing and sit close to the back of the brooch. The construction is strong and durable, yet light on the fabric.

A retired colour or form has its own understated pull. This is wearable art for the collector who likes a piece with a little history.

How to wear it

Pin it to a lapel, wool coat, linen jacket or generous knit. It suits women who like one thoughtful detail rather than a busy look.

The compliment effect

Collectors often tell us the same thing: someone stops them and asks where they found their piece. It is an understated kind of recognition from people who notice design.

Made with care

  • Handmade in Melbourne with considered materials, a careful finish and every element thoughtfully resolved.
  • Packed in eco-friendly, beautifully crafted packaging with a light scent for a considered unboxing experience. Prefer fragrance-free? Leave a note at checkout and we will sort it.
  • Checked by hand before it leaves the studio, so it arrives ready to be worn, loved and kept.
