Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Iris.
I started inSync design on a whim. No business plan, just a desire to make playful, creative pieces to brighten my monochromatic wardrobe.
It began in Melbourne in December 2006, when Craft Victoria invited local artists to create something for a Christmas market. My three-year-old daughter was drawing simple people in bright crayon, and I wanted to capture that freedom and imagination in something people could wear.
What began as a small Christmas collection became inSync design, a Melbourne wearable art studio now approaching its twentieth year.
Over time, I realised women were not only collecting inSync pieces. They were expressing something about themselves.
Collectors often tell me, “Someone stopped me and asked where I found it.”
That still fascinates me. A thoughtful object has created a connection, allowing a woman to say something about herself without words.
I believe wearable art belongs in everyday life, lived in, collected, enjoyed and loved.
The women drawn to inSync are curious, creative and thoughtful. They love books, architecture, travel, design and beautiful objects. They value originality over sameness.
Many love bold jewellery but aren’t always sure they can pull it off. That’s where inSync can help. Not by changing who you are, but by helping you express who you already are.
Every piece begins with an idea: a shape, a shadow, a colour, a conversation or a moment of noticing. It becomes wearable art designed for everyday life.
inSync has become a world shaped by creativity, design, stories and the women who collect the work. A world built around a simple belief: the most interesting thing a woman can become is herself.
