Jewellery Care

Every inSync piece moves from an initial idea through careful making and a final check in our Melbourne studio.

Most inSync jewellery is made from hypoallergenic stainless steel, shown raw or finished with 22ct matt gold plate or colour. Anodised aluminium is used only in the Pebble Collection. Some necklaces also include neoprene. Please check the material details on the individual piece before cleaning it.

Every piece is supported by lifetime care. Repairs needed because of a craftsmanship or material defect are complimentary. A modest fee may apply to normal wear, accidental damage or lost components, and we will always confirm this before proceeding.

Earrings

X2 earrings are made with two layers, allowing you to wear one layer or both.

If you lose one earring, Iris can usually make a single replacement. Send us a clear photograph of the remaining earring so we can advise you.

Brooches

Insert the pin vertically into the garment where practical. If the catch opens, this position can help the brooch remain on the fabric.

Necklaces

Many inSync necklaces include short and long lengths of neoprene so you can adjust how the piece sits.

To open a necklace, hold the cord close to the stainless steel fitting and pull gently. Avoid stretching the middle of the cord. If shortening is required, the neoprene can be carefully trimmed with scissors.

Store neckpieces flat so the cord does not develop a kink. If a cord becomes folded, warm it gently with a hair dryer on a low setting or under warm water, then allow it to return to shape. Keep perfume, oils and cleaning products away from the cord and fittings.

Rings

inSync rings vary in width from approximately 20 to 40 mm. Because they sit more broadly on the finger than a fine band, we generally recommend choosing one size larger than your usual narrow-ring size.

Repairs and lifetime care

If your piece needs attention, contact Iris with your order details and a clear photograph. Craftsmanship or material defects are repaired without charge. A small fee may apply to normal wear, accidental damage or lost components. See our returns and repairs information for full details.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Keep each piece separate in its inSync pouch so it does not rub against other jewellery. Avoid hard surfaces and exposure to chlorine, bleach, household cleaners, perfume and hairspray.

Raw stainless steel: clean gently with warm water and mild soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasives or acetone.

Gold-plated, powder-coated or anodised finishes: wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not use metal polish, abrasives, solvents or jewellery cleaners.

Pebble Collection: the coloured aluminium elements are anodised aluminium and should be treated as a finished surface. Clean them only with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
